I’m excited to share photos of Quinn and Jason’s wedding in Fulton, CA! I love doing a “First Look”! It was so fun to spend time with just the two of them prior to their wedding ceremony! They commented on how calm and relaxed they were leading up to the ceremony! I know this is often the case with other couples who can do a first look. It calms your nerves to see your partner early in the day! Quinn looked amazing in her gown and Jason helped her show it off by giving her a twirl!

I love arriving early to photograph the details! We had fun with her dress, jewelry and wedding bouquet! Quinn had lots of beautiful flowers on the tables including, dahlias and succulents. Some were in her mom’s vases and jars and some where displayed in wooden boxes. They had lots of custom wedding decor throughout their wedding and ceremony, including a hand painted sign with their names on it. Their wedding was held at her parents home, near rows of vineyards! They had approximately 80 guests, many commented on how touched they were by the couples handwritten vows!  Their guests enjoyed cocktail hour while we photographed the family. Chef Robert Negoesco with Eli Grace provided hor d’oeuvres for the cocktail hour and taco bar for dinner!

My assistant, Naomi did a great job helping me with all of the details and throughout the day!

I love their custom ring box and Jason’s engraved wedding band! Quinn’s vintage wedding ring is stunning!

The bride and groom exchanged cards prior to the ceremony!

Quinn surprised Tayler with a necklace at their private ceremony earlier in the day!

Ceremony decor!

Quinn’s hair looked awesome! Her curls were rockin!

A little dad and daughter time before the full ceremony.

Dancing flower girl and flower crown!

Married underneath the pergola alter the bride’s brother built!

I love their custom life-sized Jenga game which served as their guest book!

Guests enjoyed wine from Truett-Hurst winery, Great White draft beer from Lost Coast Brewery and Racer 5 IPA from Bear Republic Brewery! They enjoyed music from DJ, Jason Hornig!

The bride and groom during their first dance. I love market lights above dance floors, they provide the perfect amount of light as the sun goes down!

Such a yummy and beautiful dessert table. The desserts were handmade by friends of the bride and groom!

Another beautiful dahlia! Love them! And… Mug shots with their Bride and Groom signs!

The father and daughter dance!

The bride with her nephew and niece!

And a toast from mom and dad!

Guests enjoying the night!

I greatly enjoyed photographing Quinn and Jason’s backyard wedding! It was a wonderful event! Thanks for having me guys!:)

Wow, what a great day at Thunderbird Ranch in Healdsburg, CA for Dana and Alex’s wedding! They were surrounded by their closest friends and family in the middle of wine coutry! Thunderbird Ranch is 1.5 hours north of San Francisco in Sonoma County. Their wedding venue features old west architecture, train cars and a covered dance floor! That dance floor was packed from start to finish thanks to DJ Odiaka!

Every detail was thought of by the Ooh La La Wedding and Events team! It was so nice working with Kaitlyn, Jordyn & Alyah! The guests enjoyed games during cocktail hour including, ping pong, corn hole and ladder ball. The bride’s sister, Sarah made all of the pies that were served! They smelled amazing! The bride made all of the centerpieces and her mom made the bouquets!

Dana looked stunning that’s for sure! I also couldn’t wait to photograph that ring! So beautiful!

The girls got ready in the passenger dining car and the guys got ready in the railroad caboose!

My assistant, Tara grabbed this shot of the groom and his groomsmen hanging out beside one of the train cars on the property! Nice shades guys!:)

Dana with her brother and his adorable family! Two cute ring bearers and two pretty flower girls!

There was lots of time for family photos on their wedding day which was wonderful!

The prettiest flower girls with perfect curls and flower crowns! Special thanks to my second shooter, Summer for these adorable images!

I love outdoor ceremonies!

The bride’s brother-in-law, Nick officiated the ceremony.

Hooray! They’re married!

Group hug with their wedding party!

On the way to cocktail hour!

Their guests enjoyed dinner and drinks on picnic benches in the shade! Mark’s the Spot provided a great dinner which included “Salt and Pepper Tri-Tip”, “Wine Country Pulled Pork”, “Roasted Corn Salad”, “Red Jacket Potato Salad” and “Arugula and Pear Salad”. Lots of great vegetarian options! Their seating chart helped guests find their table. Each table had a lavender plant with a wire number designation.

Fun photo opportunities at Thunderbird for the groom’s cousins!

Honey sticks with tags that read “So SWEET of you to join us!” were their wedding favors!

Their wedding stationary suite which included their RSVP card, wedding day details, invitation, menu and program!

I just LOVE Dana’s rose gold emerald cut engagement ring with rose gold wedding band! Bling bling!

Their bar menu which included wine from Bliss Family Vineyards (Mendocino County based) and beer from Anchor Steam (San Francisco based) and Deschutes Brewery (Portland based). Cheers!

Their first dance as husband and wife!

The bride’s dad selected a special song for his dance with his daughter!

Their ring bearers had major dance moves! Their flower girls did too!!

Let them eat PIE! Yum!

Fun dance moves plus fun camera light techniques! The market lights that hung above the dance floor made for some fun light patterns!

The groom dedicated the last song to his new bride!

Thank you again Dana and Alex for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day! I wish you the best! For those that would like more details about my wedding photography please email natash@natashamcguire.com or call me at 707-892-3565! I look forward to learning more about your big day!:) Natasha

Sheila Payne - I love these pics!! Makes me want to do my wedding pics over!!! The love and fun was captured excellently!!

I had a great time last week in Las Vegas, NV at the Wedding & Portrait Photographers International – WPPI conference! I meet photographers from all over the world! I enjoyed improving not only my business but, myself personally! I was surrounded by talented artists, successful business people and just all around good people! My first class was with Jesh De Rox. When I first walked into the class Jesh was playing the guitar and I knew I was in the right class for me! Jesh was added to the list of instructors only two weeks prior to the conference starting date! I had no idea he was going to be there and pleasantly surprised. I have already incorporated some of Jesh’s techniques into my photo sessions. It was a pleasure to meet him in person. I plan to explain why and how I use his techniques in a future blog post! If you’ve been on a photo shoot with me and we did the cinnamon roll prompt, I learned that from Jesh!:)

I also enjoyed learning from Roberto Valenzuela, who taught us that we don’t have to be a prisoner of the lighting that’s present. We can make the perfect light! I also found inspiration from Raelyn Elizabeth who spoke during Roberto’s class about her idea to form a group of photographers in her area to go on shoots together once a month. The point of the shoots? To keep getting better and better! I plan to start a similar group in my area! Thanks Raelyn for the suggestion!:)

I was also privileged to be in Lindsay Adler’s class called “Fashion Techniques to Wow your Portrait and Wedding Clients.” She spoke about the fact that anyone can make a pretty picture. What makes yours different? One example photo that really stood out to me was from a photo shoot that she did of a bride and groom that were already married. She did an “after session” with them. This allowed them to do things they wouldn’t normally have time for on the day of the wedding. The bride and groom were able to put their outfits back on and the bride got to have her hair and make up done. Her hair was styled in a more relaxed and flowy way. If you’ve been following my blog or facebook page you know that I enjoy this sort of thing too! Check out Lacey and Stan’s session where we did something similar!

One of the fun things I got to take part in while at WPPI was a Game of Thrones stylized photo shoot with Trevor Dayley. One thing about Trevor is that he’s an open book. He was ready and willing to answer any of our questions. He had some great tips for us Canon 5D Mark III users! The theme of our photo shoot was Game of Thrones. I must admit I do not watch the show. Maybe someone can tell me all about it? I do know that the bridal head pieces were amazing! They were from Justine M Couture. We had professional styling from Stacy Childers with House of Style. Our models were Kelsey J Anderson and Sloan Hatfield. Their beautiful gowns were from Dahlia Bridal. I had a great time reconnecting with some of my photographer friends during this shoot! Hi Kelly and Cathy! We all took turns photographing the models. I think we could have photographed them all night! Check them out below!

Thanks again Trevor for organizing such a fun photo shoot! A few of the other classes I took were with Susan Stripling, Cliff MautnerJustine Ungaro, and Katelyn James Alsop. A special thanks to all of them as well! I am forever grateful!

I’m excited to put into practice all of the wonderful things I learned at WPPI. If you’d like to benefit from this education I received, please do not hesitate in contacting me for a photo shoot! Call or text me: 707-892-3565. Or fill out my contact form. Looking forward to hearing from you!
