My process for headshot clients:
1. Fill out my contact form. I will reply within 48 hours.
Fill out the question on the form for a good day and time for me to call you. We will discuss the type of images you would like me to capture. We will also determine how much time we should reserve.
If email or text message works better than a phone call mention that on the form.
2. Once we have a date, time and location selected, I will create your online contract.
The following information is needed for your contract: Full name, address, date of birth, phone number and email address.
3. Please sign your contract electronically and send your retainer payment. Your retainer payment covers your session fee.
4. Once I have received your contract signature and your retainer payment we will be officially booked.
Payments via Venmo, Zelle or check work best. You may request a PayPal invoice as an alternative option.
On average, headshots for a group of 1-5 people will take 1 to 2 hours. Feel free to bring a different shirt, jacket or sweater to easily switch up your look. Reach out to me for time estimates for groups later than 5 people.
Headshots for one person might only take 30 mins. At least one outfit change is suggested, bring a second shirt, jacket or sweater with you. It is a great idea to have branding images taken after your headshot images. Learn more in an upcoming post about branding.
Something that you feel great in! Your outfit should reflect your personal style and your business. It is nice to have a few options. You could arrive in your most dressy outfit and bring an additional shirt, jacket or sweater. You could also bring a business casual option and a casual option.
It is always nice to have your hair and makeup professionally done. Some clients have opted for just having professional hair done or just professional makeup or both! Schedule a fun night out after your photo session. Hair and makeup artist recommendations.
Contacting me at least two weeks prior to your photo shoot time frame is ideal.
Select your outfits a week in advance, that way you are not stressed leading up to your photo session. Send a photo of your outfits to me so I can prepare for your session. Your outfits will give me inspiration for your photo shoot.
Yes! My main focus is to help my clients feel comfortable in front of the camera and look amazing in their photos! I will take into consideration your comfort level with having your photo taken. In most cases asking a simple question during your session can help you take your mind of the fact that you are having your photo taken and we can capture a variety of expressions. I will take into consideration flattering angles and flattering lighting as well.
I have black, white, pink, yellow, blue, green and brown. Your headshots can be taken at my studio with a backdrop, indoors or outdoors at your business location (or both indoors and outdoors if time allows), at a local park or at your home. When selecting my studio as your location, please let me know your backdrop color preferences. I'm happy to help with suggestions. Please send me photos of your outfits to help me select the best backdrop for you.
Yes! Branding photos can be captured on the same day as your headshot session. Please let me know what kind of business you have and we will capture additional photos for you to use for marketing, social media and your website. It works great to include items that help represent you and your business. For example, a travel advisor could bring some of the following items: luggage, maps, travel magazines, laptop and cell phone. Sample of Branding Images.
During busy seasons, turn around time is 3-4 weeks. During off season times, turn around time is 2-3 weeks. Do you have a quick deadline for a submitting an image? Let me know and we can schedule time for your photo reveal on the same day as your photo session. Your turn around time will also be listed in your contract.
We will schedule a complimentary photo reveal. At the photo reveal you will select your favorites for purchase. I offer these appointments to make sure I am available to answer questions and help you make your selections. We can meet at my home location in South City or your business location.
I will have a slideshow prepared for you to view. After the slideshow, we will view your images via Lightroom. We will select your favorite images for purchase. If you have any questions regarding your images, I am there to assist you.
Your session fee is $300 and covers anywhere from 30 mins and up to 2 hours of photography coverage. High-resolution digital images are an additional fee. Headshot and branding clients typically spend around $1100 total. Smaller packages are available.
